Cobra Clone kit

well I want to do a cobra clone because I have leather interior and Interior wise I'm a tilt steering and floor mats away....

that being said where is the best Place to buy all the parts seperately?

cervinis is outrageously expensive

and what else is there ? besides vin code and the cobra intake?

I'll have fullbodykit minus the 2.5 cowl and 5 lug real Cobra R's, I got grey leather interior and I'll figure out how to put tilt steering in there..

I'll have the floormats and a good black Paint on it...

what could a mustanger find that would be a giveaway besides the Vin?

(I'll fix the VIN)

youll need an LX exhaust, front bumper insert(which should come w/ most kits), cobra rims, 24lb injectors(blue), calibrated MAF, and Im prolly missin a few things. For all the stuff your getting 999.00 really isnt a bad price especially for the quality that Cervini's offers. You might be able to get the set cheaper but Im sure they wont fit like the Cervini's will.

Fobras!!!

Cervinis, expensive, but you get what you pay for. I've heard a lot of horror stroies with these cheaper companies. Sometimes they take so much time and effort to get them right, the price difference wasn't worth it. Sometimes, people can never get it right.

Changing the VIN is kind of ILLEGAL. You could get a '93 Cobra in unfixable condition (wrecked, rotted out) and swap vins.

You'll need the different heads, Roller Rockers, Cam, Intake, TB, MAF, brakes, and a few other things.

When all is said and done, it will still be a Fobra, and someone that is really looking will be able to tell. Numbers will not match.

Why not build a modded stang with mostly Cobra parts and forget the vin thing? If you are trying to sell it as a Cobra shame on U!! If not, why change the vin anyways. Why change the inside motor parts anyways? A knowledgable Stang man will always be able to tell a real Cobra from yours anyways!! If real is what U want go to a junk yard and get pieces from the real thing and paint em.

nah, I can say I like it better that way etc....

I'm talking about dead Proof that would give it away

Ive never seen anyone with a REAL one that would even think of putting dumps on thiers. Like 90mustangGT said If you are ever around people at a show or something they will know you have a fake. You should just buy one if youre that dead set on it.

I think he means that stangers can usually tell a cobra by the VIN since there is a code in the for it. I dont know what the code is, but i'm sure someone on here that has a cobra would know. I still dont really understand changing the VIN but thats the only reason i can think of other than trying to sell the car as a cobra....and thats just messed up

Cloning means your a wanna be.I hate clones,,one of the biggest cloning done on 60's muscle cars was done on GTO's! 64,65,66,and 67 were real easy,,BUT,,it wasnt real :notnice: Your driving around in a fake car :notnice: Get yourself a girl friend with inplants and a nose job, maybe some fake lips,,and you 3 could go cruisin on the weekends!!

Actually your interior is completely wrong. You'll need an entire interior swap.

You have the wrong seats. '91 seats have the pull out thigh supports. This was done away with mid-92 so '03 CObras have the seats without them. That's a dead giveaway that the car is a '93. You'll need to swap your seats.

If you have gray interior, the colors are not the same. 1993 got a unique color gray that was only available that 1 year. You'll need to swap the entire interior to get the color to match the seats. Also, Cobras do NOT have tilt and do NOT have cruise control. They have a non-cruise 90-93 steering wheel...which is kinda hard to find these days. Also, the dome light will need to be changed.

And that's just the interior.......
.

ok this is becoming a pain in the ass.

I'm just gona make a Cobra R clone, and not even claim its a Cobra R.....

Gonna do Wheels etc,, Interior, and in the process save about 300 lbs...

I'll KEEP the vin because I talked to my dad about and he said its illegal and not even worth it, also told me after I'm done with everything might as have just bought a Cobra...

so you guys are kinda right...

but NOW for a cobra R clone fill me in on what I got to do !

If I do the complete bodykit and do some interior stuff I'd be better then the average Fobra, just get parts as I go...

what did the Cobra R have different engine wise?

right now off the top of my head I got

Taillights
Rear bumper
spoiler
side effects
frontbumperinsert
cobra badge
Painted Black

no clue what the Cobra R had interior wise....
besides floormats???

Engine:

Cobra Intake
24lb
calibrated Mass air
65mm TB
GT40's (would be Edelbrock)

duno probably missin alot
