Cobra intake & aluminum driveshaft?

Hello everyone I will be getting my quarterly bonus check in about a week and it is time for more mods, I am building our mustang vert a little bit at a time and it is coming along pretty good. First up is a 94/95 Cobra intake, I found a good deal on one and am wondering if it will be worth the time and money to install one? About as far as I will probably go on heads is a set of GT40 or GT40P's.
Second question is about the FRPP aluminum driveshaft, I installed 3.73's in my car and it doesn't feel as smooth in the high rpm's as it used to. Will the aluminum drivehaft help smooth things out. I am looking at about 600 bucks on both of these mods and would like to spend my mod money wisely

i just rebuilt the motor in my 87, cobra intake being a new part that went on as well. Definitely worth the money. with the mods you have listed and with what you said you're going for, the cobra intake would be the best choice, imo, especially if you don't plan on putting some some big heads and cam in. i don't have an aluminum driveshaft, but a lot of the guys in the fox forums have said installing an aluminum driveshaft cured vibration problems they were having. those are definitely two good upgrades, i say go for it!

The intake is a good up grade to a mostly stock car like yours. I think you would be happy with it. As for the driveshaft I don't have one but like said above everybody I hear that has them say it really decreases the vibration

I'd deffinetly do the intake, almost anything is better than the stock one. As for the driveshaft, I think it was worth the money on mine. The stock one and 3.73 gears made a horrible vibration above 75 mph, but now with the aluminum one its smooth as silk up to 110mph (I haven't gone faster than that with it, there's no point). I was very surprised with how light the aluminum one is compared to the stock one. Plus it looks alot better with the car up on the hoist

My aluminum drive shaft really smoothed things out as well, I'd say it's worth while. I'd probably try to find a decent used on though.

Thanks for the input everyone!, another question for you. I found a real 94 Cobra intake in great condition for 300ish. Would you buy that or a new Cobra replica intake from Jegs? the fox style Cobra intake would require an elbow adapter to install the intake on my car. Also I have read that the Cobra replica intakes suck oil into them somehow, that and it would cost at least 150 dollars more to go with the new one. What would you do?

Get the used Cobra intake. Then you dont need to spend money on the elbow.

I agree. I actually like how the original '94-'95 Cobra intakes looked with the built-in elbow. A good sanding and paint or powdercoat and she'll look fantastic under the hood

Actually I bought the paint and clear for it this morning, my plan when I get it is to take it to work and bead blast it, after that I will repaint it, clear it and put that bad boy on. I like the look of the intake with the built in elbow too, it looks more factory looking. I don't like the look of the intake plaque as much as the fox Cobra intake but I can live with it. I'll take pics when I get it painted and then more when I get installed.

One more thing, do you guys like the BBK strut tower brace? I found one for about 130 bucks and that seems like a pretty good deal, I don't want to compromise handling and know my stock brace won't work once the Cobra intake is installed.
