I just found a laser red 04 cobra with 14k on her for 24k and she is bone stock. If I had the money I would sell my car and get the cobra.

Cobra - or be like me and throw $xx,xxx at your GT and have a reasonably fast car that handles like tits Personally, I would opt for a C5 Z06, or even a base FRC c5...they can be made VERY fast for VERY little (cam, heads, intake, exhaust, and tires and you're running low 11's, add a small shot and you could hit 10's depending on traction).

at 400 hp, you will always feel safer with the cobra. with a gt on a stock block, you will always be checking stuff, trying to diagnose noises, and, of course, stuff will break. IMO the gt internals are weak. theyre not bult to sustain 400+ hp and still be a daily driver... thats exactly what the cobra was built for. 03/04 Cobra FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i think the zo6 is a better sports car then the cobra, but i think the cobra is a better car if you are doing daily driver duties and stuff like that

my friend has a bone stock 04 zo6 and ran an 11.90 with stock rubber on a bone stock car

Termis are so much hotter than Vettes and possess a certain mystique... It's hard to explain. When I see a Corvette, I think, "eh, another Vette." When I see a Cobra, I can't stop staring at it.

The price of the whole thing is what gets me

I imagine i'll get no more than 8k for my 00 gt 5-speed bolt ons 74k miles

so that leaves another 12-16k left in money towards the cobra

12k in the Gt would make it unbelieveable

The entire point for me is this is my daily driver no matter if its a cobra or gt so reliablity while producing good hp numbers is my main objective.

a gt engine will be just as reliable as a cobra motor, if it's built properly and professionally.

so putting 12K into a gt would be awesome, and your hp would be pretty good.

remember forged engines are way more productive, efficient, and powerful than motors with cast components.

you really have nothing to gain by purchasing a cobra other than the title of it being an "authentic" svt vehicle.

good luck in your decision.

If he puts a teksid block in he'll be fine. i wouldn't recommend supercharging a stock motor anyhow. I'd take the engine out, boil it, clean it, have it honed, paint in, and then put forged parts in, it will be strong as can be, and as good as a cobra motor.

Plus, you only need bolt ons (including pulley) to make a Cobra crazy fast. Corvette enjoys bolt ons, but the power comes from heads and cam - not exactly simple

i just sold my vortech 2003 gt a few months ago to get a cobra. I figured that with everything i wanted to do to it, the cobra was a better investment. I had 50k miles on the GT, and it sold for 14.5k. I found a 2003 cobra with 30k miles in great condition, nearly stock for 21k.

In the GT, i wanted to do an IRS swap, T56 swap, and a built motor. It was a better choice for me. Plus i liked the fact that it is faster than my vortech GT, but its basically stock. I beat the **** out of my cobra sometimes, and it just asks for more. I felt like i couldn't do that with the GT.

Good luck with your decision.

I agree, especially when compared to a modded terminator with a sweet sounding exhaust note. Hell, my GT turns more heads than my buddy's C6 Vette.

you need to get a daily driver before you think about s/c your gt...i made that mistake and believe me you'll hate putting miles on it after you dump all that money into it

x2!!! plus depending on where he lives, a car like that really will not be good in the rain or snow.

get a daily driver first.
