OK..got all excided because I found a good deal for 4 polished aluminum Cobra R rims. I have a 93 coupe with an aftermarket K member (not sure if that matters) and Mark 7, 5 lug front disc brake conversion. Went to put the rims on just to make sure they fit before I bought tires and UGH!!! The rim just barely hits the coil on the strut/coil over/shock. I checked the back spacing from the face of the hub to where it rubs on the shock and it is just more than 5.5 inches. I then checked the cobra rs and found the backspacing to be about 5 and 9/16ths. They clear the dust cap and brakes...but at 9 inches wide..I am afraid they will stick out too far if I put a 1/8 to 1/4 inch spacer...then also worry about what tire to run. Anyone have any suggestions? Anyone make a quality 8 inch Cobra R replica with better backspacing (5 backspace and 3 front)?? ANY HELP GREATLY APPRECIATED GUYS!

Anyone???
Stickers on inside of wheel say 23mm offset. The car has caster/camber plates and the weld wheels on it now appear "toed" in at the top. I'v read what I could find on this type if situation so far. Could the C/C plates be that far out to where the lip of the rim would contact the coil over? Not familiar with front end alignment..is this something I could mess with and then get the car properly aligned before I put it on the street?? Thanks!

whats happening is your rim is too wide and the back spacing isnt helping you either....when you mentioned that your alignment is "off" that could be making it a issue, just keep in mind the only thing that could affect that is camber adjustment, but when you change the camber, the rim will also maintain that some distance because the camber changes at the spindle assembly. One thing you didnt mention is what type of Coil over set up your are running, we install Maximum stuff all day long and you may want to check your brand and check the diameter of your springs, if they are wider then Maxi's stuff then you may want to convert to Maxi. I would call maxi and ask tech for help. I do know that running 9" wide rims is an issue. You may want to send out your rims (fronts) and get them narrowed half and inch (maybe you can get by with 1/4"?) just check your measurements. Keep in mind that running a spacer may help but it may hit the outter lip of your fender(s), and if you narrow your rims (which I strongly suggest) it will have a different effect then running a spacer on the hub. Hope I didnt confuse you furthur. : )

THANKS for the reply Wizwrath! I currently have UPR coilovers with the UPR K member. I put a 5/16th spacer on just to test fit and it gave me almost a 1/4 inch space between the rim and the coil. In looking at the rim...even if I had them cut and narrowed...I think it would still stick out too far outside the fender well. For what it would cost me to modify these (figuring 150 each at least)...I might be better off buying the 17x8 5 lug cobra replicas? ANyone know a good company to get them from? So far I have onlyh found AFS who carries the 17x8...?? Thanks again for all the help. Never thought it would be this hard since i have seen many fox coupes with them on????
