I want to get 17 x 9 inch chrome cobra R's on my 1991 GT. I am doing the 5 lug conversion bc I think it looks better and its stronger. I know my stock ponies are 16 x 7 and sit on 225's. My question is will the cobra R's fit with no modifications and what tire width should I go with for 9 inch wide rims? I would like to go with Nittos or BFG comp T/A's.

17 X 9 will fit just fine on your 91 GT. I had them on my 88 GT back in 1998. I had 245-45-17 BFG's on the front and 275-40-17 BFG's on the rear. The only modifications I did was put rack limiters in the front and I rolled the fender lip in the rear. But I don't think I had to roll the fenders because it looked like it would have cleared anyway, I did it before installing the wheels.

Be sure you get the 5.95 inch backspacing.

Here is what they looked like.

So by putting rack limiters on the front did your turning radius increase? Do you think I would be ok with an Eibach pro kit in the future? Your car looks good!

Thanks.

No, it decreases the amount you can turn the wheel so it doesn't hit the a-arm.

$1.95 for 1 and $10.95 for 6.
