code 0720?

i found this object in my center console yesterday and i removed it cause it didnt look like it belongs there. After i did my speedo wasnt working and my cel came on and it was throwing a code 0720. (output speed sensor circuit malfunction). Does anyone know what would of caused this? Here is a few pics of that box i removed,,, and it was NOT a speedo calibration box, i allready installed that under the dash where shifter is

i would of if it didnt start raiing and it hasnt stopped yet since last nite its not a ford item and that circle pad i dont know what the heck that does,it plugs into the box with a single rca cable type of connector
