I can't clear the codes on a 1988 mustang 5.0 efi nomater how you try. Tried code reader,unhooking the battery, took the ecm out and left it on the desk for a week or so. And it still has the same codes. Any suggestions?

What codes? Emissions stuff will pop up with ever self test if they are bad. I don't even have the majority of them on my beater out side of the egr being plugged it, never trips the light but code is there.

Correct
11-10-11 is a pass and the first code is a hard fault (continuous code)
If you unplug something, clear the code and then retest it, that code will reappear

You’ll also get a code 15 if you attempt to pull codes immediately after unhooking the battery without performing a drive cycle.
