cold air intake filter question

98 GT..i need to buy a new K&N air filter but i couldnt find it anywhere locally so i had to order it online. Itll most likely be here by thursday but my question is..is it safe for me to drive around without an airfilter? i just need to get to work and back, so itll be about 22 miles a day. any suggestions?

Don't drive around without a filter. Just spend a few bucks on a regular paper filter until the K&N comes in. Then put the paper filter back in the box & you'll have it to use when you eventually pull the K&N out to clean it.

Why cany you just keep the old one in until the new one comes? If you cant then just buy a cheap paper one as already stated.
