There has been considerable debate over whether Ram Air does anything or not. This is a fact. There is a high pressure area that forms at the nose of everything that is pushed trough the air. Some tests have shown as much as 2"hg of pressure. A Ram Air system provides a willing area for that high pressure to escape to. I once read an article that said that they measured 1/4 to 1/2 pound of boost in the ducting at speed with Ram Air.
