Comp Cam XE268H

I am looking at upgrading to this cam, and I have a 2 part question.

#1 is this a good match to my current components which are listed in Sig.

#2 will there be any clearance issues or will I have to upgrade the springs.

Thanks

that cam might be a bit large for your combo, but it will do fine overall. as for any clearance problems, that depends on how much valve lift you have. best to check valve to piston clearance to be sure, but if your valve lift is under .500" it shouldnt be a problem. as for valve springs, you need to upgrade them to what comp cams recommends.

I used to run that cam in a 302 in my '66 Mustang. I loved the sound of it and I thought it worked great. :nice: The car ran 13.2's all day long with Trick Flow heads (with wrong valve springs!), low compression dished pistons, RPM intake, 650 carb, hooker headers, flowmasters, C4 with 3.55 gears.

Those are very aggressive lobes so definitely get the matching valve springs. Also, be very careful breaking the cam in. There's lots of reading on that topic.
