Comparing a GT to a Cobra (whats different)

About a hundred more horses. I just did the same upgrade except I got a 97 cobra. It made my 96 Gt auto feel like a v6. Go for the cobra because it takes 2 much work and $$$ to make a non pi GT fast. Dont get me wrong, my GT is a great car and very reliable, but kinda slow.

Oh yea the '96 GT's are slugs thats why I wanna go with a Cobra 98 cause the 94-98 body style is my favorite,lol...

Didn't know they had a complete Aluminum motor... plus the ones Im buyin has more boltons on it.

Thanks for the info guys...

Cobra has a knock sensor, the GT doesn't
4 valves verse 2
Both have the T45 transmissions
Bigger TB twin 57 mm on the Cobra.

Actually with PI cams and the PI Intake the 96-98 GT will hold its on with a stock 96-98 Cobra with a good driver. However, the cobra will react better with mods.

Yeah the 96-98 gt's will be better with the PI swap, but I didnt want to fork out all that money and time just to gain a measly 40-65 horses. My biggest gripe with my 96 GT was that it is a automatic. I wish I didnt have to sell the thing though. It would be better suited for daily driving than the cobra. Its been the most reliable car I have ever owned. I think ford should do a recall on the non PI heads for there lack of horsepower like they did on the 99 cobras!! Lol

In laymans terms
they stop better, they accelerate better, they corner better, they are made in limited runs, they look better, they cost more, they are the top of the food chain for late model mustangs
