Comparisons to 92-96 LT1 Corvettes

Gang,

Has anyone "played" with 92-96 LT1 Corvettes? How did you fare?

My brother in-laws 95 seems like it has more low end torque but less upper end pull than my 05 Mustang GT.

yep that should be about right, the LT1 has a good bottom end but makes it's PEAK torque @ 2500rpm or something similar. I think the Vettes are rated at 300bhp though (275bhp Fbody), so they arn't what you'd call a slouch.

The 3v setup on the GT and the OHC design means it's going to like the higher rpms more.

In performance terms, it should be pretty close, but I'd give the nod to the GT with a good driver.

The vette does weigh quite a bit less then the GT. Could be a good race!

You might be ok versus a LT1, just watch out for those LT4s. The spin faster and have 30 more horse. I just traded in mine to get my new 06. It rides nicer, but that LT4 was a torque monster.

the lt4's 330 hp rating was a bit underrated. In reality they are around 350 to 360hp. They are very nice.

lt1 vs 05-6 GT. oooh good race

Vette is lighter but has inde rear to soak up a bit more power.

driven properly I say the GT wins by a millimeter
