completed long block

took a week to get the valve train 100%

3 days waiting on Smiths Bros pushrods and 2 days for longer ARP rocker studs.

About 6 hrs total doing the valvetrain alone

Its a Jay Allen custom H/R. Lift in the low/mid .600's Duration @ .050 is split around 230's 240's as is the LSA.

I have no idea on power level. Suffice to say I made 660 before. I really built this as a bullet proof motor for the street instead of ultra high HP.

Spent.......Way too much.
For What you see here:

$ 6000 Short block
$ 1000 reworking and upgrading the heads. (not including original cost)
$ 400 Custom Billet Cam
$ 200 New Pan
$ 270 Comp Cams Magnum Rockers
$ 200 Billet Timing set/thrust plate
$ 470 Lifters
$ 125 Smiths Bros custom Pushrods
$ 225.00 Romac Balancer
$ 200.00 SCE ICS Titan Head Gaskets
$ 100.00 1/2 ARP Head Studs
$ 50 new Ford water pump
$ 200.00 in Gaskets/Misc bolts/oil pump etc.

Much of the rest will be a Xfer over from my 331 steup. Blower Intake/exhaust/fuel system etc. I am putting in a new clutch/flywheel

I refuse to do that with my new build, I know it'll take all of the fun out of it.

That looks great Matt! A 364 is one of my dream motors!

A special thanks on this really goes out to Chris Eades. He helped me get the heads done for about 1/2 of what it would normally cost.

What happened with him and his family made it bittersweet in bolting them on. I hated hearing of his tragedy, made me wonder where lifes justice is.

A year or so ago I was going to sell the car. In that time I am redoing this one and added 2 more 5.0 cars to my collection.

Its a sickness I guess.

The eades family are great people. Did you have the heads done by Bill at standard machine here in AZ?

Yes, I sent them out to Chris. He took them in and they went through them and ported and polished them. They looked great.

They do great work there. Chris did just about his whole motor there. And we have seen how strong his runs. And your setup looks amazing. Can't wait to see it all finished up.

Might have to get a Dart block but don't want to and if I do, then 363 instead of 331. Thoughts on what I've already bought so far.......
