Sounds like it is stuck. Or maybe you have the new Ford prototype that I have heard talk about. Can you open you hood and see if you have thiry-four mice running in a wheel? I had thought they were going with 40 mice per hour (mph) but maybe a few of yours have given out already.

I get around 22 MPG for mixed driving (a little more highway then city and taking it EASY on the gas peddle)... I would say its stuck... the best I even got was 27.6 MPG and that was all highway with cruise control on.

Try resetting the adv. mph when you get on the highway.

Funny...now that you mention it, I think mine always reads 34 mph too. I'll have to doubel check today.

FYI - I also noticed that my mpg is usually 1 lower on the computer than what I'm actually getting.

yes, its averaging the speed from start/stop to highway. if you reset on the highway it will read a lot higher, just like if you set the MPG on the highway the same thing. If you set the MPG on the streets it might read 17-18

Yeah it keeps that info so if you don't reset it now and again it's averaging the speed from when you last reset it.

I have been having fun resetting mine on the highway and whatching the averages. On another note my avg mpg has been pretty close to what I am getting. Also enable the speed adjusted volume on the radio, that is pretty cool too.

Mine sits right on 31 mph. I would think it would change a mph or two after some long highway cruising, especially with only 4,000 miles on my Stang (I have never reset the average mph since I bought mine). I guess if I'm not interested in what my average mph is from the day I got the car, I could reset it and see if it really works.

On a side note, my MPG reading is more like 0.7 mpg low than a full mpg, although my last tank was almost dead on. I suppose the accuracy may depend on what tye of driving you had on the current tank.

Funny, mine says 34mph too. Not surprised though since most of my driving is on a 35 mph road. Wouldn't it be sweet if you could program the Elapsed Time section to time your 1/4 mile et? Not sure if anyone else has mentioned that before but it just crossed my mind.

Thats a good question.......anyone have answers? I drove mine today and played with reset, it's amazing my gas mileage goes from 22 to 28 depending on how I'm driving and all the way to 17-18 when getting on it. Was fun to check it out.
