i was looking through my summitracing mag and in the mustang part i saw this venom computer programmer.
i have a 94 gt with a few mods. and im wondering if its even worth buying. it says it will increase horsepower by 25% in 30 minutes...?
i thought that was pretty cool im just wondering if they actually work and how exactly will it give me around 50 horsepower???? thanks

Im unsure about that device... But im sure its not a true tune.... Probably just a spark/fuel optimization similar to a 9al.... Correct me if im wrong... You would be better saving your money and puting it toward more mods and a true tune.

It was probably tested many times when they made it and the best result gave 25% increase in hp. Was that tuner for just mustang or was it universal?

its for a 1994-1995 5.0/302.. so ya just mustang.
its a venom 400 performance control module, increases hp by 25 percent in the 1000-5000 rpm range, reduces delay when you mash down on the throttle, and it only kicks on during increased engine load so it wont effect fuel economy. has an off switch to preserve smog certification when not racing, and has only four electrical connections for installation. and its 299.95 dollars. thats basically what it says in the catalog....

There's not a tuning device on the market that will increase horsepower, or torque 25% just by simply installing it. For $299, I'd have something useful, like a Quarterhorse.

+2.

don't waste your money. if you want a tune, get a quaterhorse, or if you want more power get gears or exhaust or nitrous.

I guess I didn't make it plain about what I was trying to say

Its a hoax

Lemme appeal to your common sense

Lets say you're putting 200 to the wheels now

When you do the math

25% of that works out to be 50 rwhp

You would have to be ... Some Kinda Tuner ... to find that much gain
with complete pcm access on stock or close to stock Stang :Word:

For that to happen on some kinda generic chip

Well ... Its just not gonna happen

Them Ole Boys .......
The're just lookin for someone foolish enough to believe em

The 25% figure is probably a generic figure for all cars. Probably means that they sell one for an SRT-4 or something like that, and on that car it increased 25%, because it manipulates the wastegate. You're not going to get 25% through the computer of a 5.0. I would spend your money on something more tried and true.

i think when they say it increases by 25% they mean the total area under curve. take the dyno graph for hp. If you colored in everything under the line that would give you the area under curve, now put on the chip and it increases that area by 25%. so thats not a increase of 25% max hp, but an increase in average hp. the only thing the chip can do is control spark and fuel.

i think the 95 is soley a computer controlled ignition timing and the chip will give a little more timing, therfore more HP.
