I'm fairly new to modifying an EFI engine. So, if I were to install a Trick Flow cam, would the computer need retuned for the bigger cam? For instance, the injectors would need to know that they would need to flow longer than usual because of the increased duration and flow more because of the increased lift. Correct? Or would the MAF meter automatically tell them how much more air is being pulled in and how much longer it's being pulled in and automatically compenstate?

BTW, would the TFS-51402001 cam be a good one for my combo in my sig? It has 224/232 duration @ .050in and .542/.563 valve lift.
Basically, the engine will eventually be a 331 or 347. Hence the 75mm TB and 30# injectors. I just basically want a good cam that I will be able to use in the stroker when it comes time, but have it help this engine eat up all the fuel it's recieving for the time being.

I want to say it's a track heat, but am not 100% sure. All parts were on it when I bought the engine so I don't remember what he said it was. I think it may be a track heat though.

w/ that lift you have to make sure your valves arent gonna be hitting your pistons. You may even want to consider the stage 1 cam (tfs-51402000)- many ppl here run them w/ good results.

Ok thanks. Do you know if the computer needs a tune after installing this cam?

All you have to do is disconnect the battery for at least 20 minutes. Then it should relearn new items installed on your engine. It is not nessecary to have the car custom tuned with a chip in order for it to run ok.

Ideally getting a chip burnt would be the way to go, but not necessary. If you plan on doing mods in the future, hold off on the chip until your done.
