I have to admit that I jerry-rigged a fox once instead of fixing it the right way. I had an 86 GT Auto that wouldnt go into park and it turns out the cable was getting in a bind due to cracks in the outer casing. I had planned on selling the pony, so instead of replacing the cable I fixed a piece of metal and attached it to one of the bolts on the tranmission pan, to keep it up and out of a bind so it could extend fully and go into park. Im not proud of what I did but it sure worked nicely after that.

I know that I cant be the only one that rigged something on a pony, so make me feel better and make your spit out your confession.

Does using a clothes hanger and Aluminum tape to fix a muffler count? Or using Duct tape to cover holes in a ragtop count?

Jerry Rigging 101:
When I got my 89GT, we found a pen top being used to block a vacuum line. We went a little further and found the pen casing being used to connect that same vacuum line to another. We have yet to find the ink refill and the ball point however

I almost completely forgot! So me and MyBad70 were putting the finishing touches (intake swap) on the RoofStrype car when we found a water hose from the therm housing we didn't need (deleted heater stuff)...

So unable to find a suitable cap we used a spare lug nut

On my old 72 bronco the back brakes went out, everything in back ...SHOT..
and had no money,so I pinched off the lines and rolled them so they wouldnt leak... Just front brakes, Kinda scary though

Stock catback didn't fit too well after the x-pipe so I cut it all up and put some cherry bombs and used turn-downs at the axle I want to get a Magnaflow catback later on... That's the worst I've done to this car, the temp exhaust setup is using strong brackets to hold it up so it looks like a decent job...

Ive got black duct tape on my top that was going to get replaced, but now my trans is on the way out so Ill be spending my new top money on a new trans. Oh well duct tape is like 4 bucks a roll.

theres a loose wire into the ignition cylinder on my car and whenever I pushed the clutch in, all four idiot lights would come on and then shut off, in order to fix taht I took an old wire from one of my neon lights (im sorry, I was in high school when i put them in) and had to tie the wiring harness to the steering column in order for the lights to stop coming on and off.

they were neon lights hidden under the dash on the passenger side and drivers side, it looked alright but I never used them so I ripped them out when I did my heater core.

The fill plug on my rear end wont come out, so i took my stock diff cover mushroomed the steel with a punch then tapped it and put a pipe plug in it. Works great, no leaks.

Havnt done it to the stang, but used J&B eld to fix the turn signal switch on the blazer. Everything on the turn signal runs through the same switch as the flasher. Priced it from GM at around $250. Decided to take a piece of welding rod, hold the switch in place and J&B the damn thing. No emergency flashers, but the cruise, turn signals and wipers still work.

Had one of the old motorcycles break down on the side of the road - the ferrule on the clutch cable snapped. I started walking and the first place I found was a VW shop. I asked for a throttle stop fitting for a Bug and walked back and installed it on the bike - worked great.

I'd go on with more tales but I'd induce vomiting amongst many of you.
