Ok i have my pretty much stock auto 5.0 exhaust is the only big change.
My friend has a 3.8 v6 bonneville SSE ( its not the supercharged model)

We were at a stop light and we wanted to race, he said himself he would lose, so we race for like 5-7 secs, didnt get too far, but in that distance he whooped my 5.0 pretty bad, i mean this thing is a big ol luxury sedan.

But he claimed it has a turbo on it, but he lies and exxagerates alot also. I dont think pontiac made bonneviles with turbos did they?
He also said it might have been because his car is FWD, how would that work?

But could i have won if we would race in the 1/4th?

well we probably have the same driving skill, i've been driving for a year, he has been for like 2-3 months. I know i need to work on lauches, havent practiced yet, but i cant help the shifting, my car is auto, and so is his.

This should have been posted in TALK.

Since it's here though.... You got whooped by a more powerful V-6 with less drive train loss and a snappier transmission. Had you been in the same car with a manual tranmission, thing might have been different for a race that short only because of the larger torque numbers you'd be putting down. Time to get some mods done to your stang. Maybe gears and a higher stal converter would be a good start.

Just a quick search turned up that stock Bonnevilles, depending on the year, will run as quick as 15.5 and as slow as low 17s. Most models/years being in the 16s. You drive a stock AOD mustang. You would probably run mid to high 15s and he probably got a jump on you from the light. AOD mustangs are pretty slow in stock form. Get some gears, converter and drag radials before racing again.

I know the Pontiac Bonneville had a supercharged V6 (3800 series motor). They were either stock v6 or optional supercharged.Which by the way, hauls pretty nicely. They did not come with a turbo. He was either lying or didn't know much the difference between a supercharger and a turbo.

I have a '92 LX 5.0 Convertible with Auto. trans. There are no mods on it.If yours is a convertible then I wish you luck.If not, then it's a tough call.Either he does have a SC or your car has running issues.Non-vert should be able to take that car down no problem.Only issue I have is with the Auto tranny. It seems too ill responsive compared to the T-5.

If in doubt,go throw on some gears then show up at the track like nothing happened .. :D

One more thing...try not to race on public streets.Someone could just pop out of no-where and....SMACK!! Save yourself the luxury of finding this out later....not to forget the awesome luxury you get with Officer Doughnut's long yellow ticket...that's a bonus

A stock auto Mustang is not a very fast car. I'm not surprised honestly that another car that seems inferior would/could beat you. I got beat all the time by lesser cars when I had my stock '95 AODE. Mustangs, at least till recently, have been extremely overrated as far as how fast they are. Start modding!

And if you are going to race on public roads, at lease find one that no cars drive on, or block something off. Tracks are a lot further away for me than streets where people race..
