Hi everyone, first post here, :) sorry it's a bit long.

Planning on ordering a 2011 GT and I'm stuck on one point:

Is the sport mode for the stability system only available with the premium package? Is full disable available in the base trim ?
I've done a ton of searches and have conflicting answers.

I plan on ordering the GT with the Brembos. I have a DD with all the cushy stuff so I don't need / want the premium package. This car will see track time so not being able to disable the stability would be a deal breaker.

I went to largest dealer around yesterday, no help there. They didn't even know there was a difference between traction control and stability control, thought I was crazy until I insisted we go sit in one and hold the button down for 5 seconds. "huh, never heard of that" says the sales manager  Unfortunately, all the GT's on the lot were premium package, no base models to experiment on.

Thanks.

You disable ESC and TCS by holding the brakes and pressing the button down for more than 5 seconds. Everything is explained on page 209 of your owners manual.

If you hit the button twice and enable sport mode ESC is still on.

If you hit the button just once, TCS is off, but ESC is on.

+1. I"m not sure about base models but when you get Brembo package you have complete control of TCS & ESC as 1wildGT stated.

Thanks everyone,
Just wanted to be sure I do not need to order the premium package.
I did look in an owners manual at the dealer. Under sport mode (pressing the button twice) it says "if equipped" but the dealer can't find any information as to what package it is or is not included with.

As long as it's on the base 5.0 GT with Brembos, them I'm good to go.

Unfortunately, my experience with car dealerships is that you can't trust the information / answers they provide.

A friend of mine learned that the hard way... he bought a brand new 2010 GT base that had to be brought over from another dealership. The salesman told him that the Shaker, Sync and illuminated door sills were stock on the base GT...

DOH!

Update

Bought a 2011 off the lot :D ; 2011 GT base package, Brembos, 3.73 rear, Kona Blue.

Sport mode is there. Can even activate while moving as long as you touch the brake enough to activate the tail lights.
