The Comp Cams are designed to work with the factory VCT, thats what they are saying in thier ads.

the Comp Cams still work with the VCT, but you still have to remove & reinstall the VCT stuff to get the cams on.

All I can say is "WOW"! Everything I have heard about boss330 has been A++++, topnotch, none better. Can you give us any more details? Is the car more for just the straight line track, or is the car daily driveable/dependable? Any ballpark figures for costs? Any other mod's needed to handle the extra power? What cams, pistons, and rods? Any tuning issues, and such?

im very happy with the work i had done at boss 330 and the head work at champion racing heads they put together a great combo that was designed for the drag strip but my wife can still drive it, so yes it very streetable. i plan on spraying a 175 to 250 shot depending on tunning etc. so far with the diablo tune it hasnt had any problems, im sure with a large shot that could all change! if your happy with 400 at the wheels a blower is more cost effective unless you are unlucky or abuse it then you will be rebuild anyway. thats why i did mine rather than sending pistons, rods, valvetrain into a grinder, then theres a lot of machine work and even more money.

Is there any issues with low manifold vacuum @ idle? I hate to ask, but how much fuel mileage did you loose?

Anyone have a vid of Stage II or III here ?

Sanctus said:
yeah ive seen numerous videos of stage 1 and 2 cams and from what i have heard the stage 2 cams sound MEANNNNNNNNN. how violent would that be in the cabin for the occupants?

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4593046482213742032&q=cams

and theres another one floating around of a yellow Gt that i just cant find which makes me mad. but o well you get the idea. Stage II BBk cams sound pretty amazing on these cars. but how much work must they be to install my gosh. and would heads need to be replaced?

stlwagon, did you do the cam install or take it to a shop? I've helped with a cam swap in a 2V, but what does the VCT add to the complexity of swapping the cams? Did you see a noticeable difference in power with the Stage 1 cams?

I had a local guy do it since I don't mess with the internals. He said it was quite a challenge. Didn't get into specifics.

Ok, can you give us some more details? Do you have a video? Increased hp/tq #'s if available? Tuning, what about tuning? Any tuning issues or concerns?

Ok, I just read your final hp/tq #'s on your sig. Nice

BBR uses their own cams which are reground stock cams. they may finally have billet cores that have made their way into production. i have not followed BBR since their false cam claims a while back.

Those #s were right after I had the cams & LTs done. Adding the LTs really threw off my A/F so I was still running a bit lean. I think my numbers might be a little higher now but I haven't dyno'd it again yet.

stlwagon, did you buy the cams somewhere and then take them to the shop; or did you buy the whole setup from the shop? I'm trying to find the cheapest place to guy a set of those cams & valvesprings.

Purchased from RPMOutlet and had a local mechanic/speed shop do the work. Didn't do the springs. It is required for the stage 2-4 cams.
