I'll try to be brief, but thorough enough to get some good pointers.
My car right now:
1992 LX 5.0 with completely stock motor from TB to pan.
Vortech s-trim
Walbro 255 and T-rex/aeromotive afpr/vortech fmu
MSD 6al
Pro-M 75mm MAF
FRPP shorties/bassani catted x/bassani catback
I'm looking at picking up the following (brand new) for a good price:
AFR 185 with 61cc combustion chamber
GT-40 upper/lower gasket matched to 185s by Keith Craft
First, has ANYONE run 185s without p/v issues on stock pistons? If not, new pistons are fine.
I will lose my 19# inj. and the fmu and the MSD BTM, and switch to 42's and an SCT tune. Stock tb will be replaced with 70mm to match the GT-40 opening.
Am I on the right track here? My goals are a streetable car with decent manners. I don't care about every last tenth HP.
School me guys! I talked to a fellow stangnet member last night about this, and would like to hear a few more voices of experience to help me learn.
Thanks!
