Console swap, possible?

I have a 1996 Mystic Cobra. I am wondering if it would be possible to swap the factory console with a console out of a later model mustang (not sure the years, I want the one with cup holders by the e-brake, I know the 99 is like this). Any problems with fitment? Anyone know a good place to buy one other than ebay? It would be one like this but for a manual:

the one pictured is the same as the 94-98 but instead of the ashtray it has a cup holder. they still suck big time and you will slam your drink into hte back seat when you go to shift on a manual.

the 01-04 console puts the cup more out of the way, but i dont know if it will fit 100% without mods. also I think they quit making black in 99 and went to "dark charcol" in 01-04

Its got to be possible on some level. One of the newer Stangs mags I've been reading had a guy with a 96 Cobra that he had taken a Terminator engine and the entire interior to put in his 96.
