Controlling Wheel Spin

Good control arms. You have to use more euphemisms too; talking about street racing on this website is not allowed. Which means your harmless thread about traction could get locked.

Feathering. Which like previously stated is practice. And just so you know none of our stangs had tcs/esp till the later new edges. But anyway get better suspension and tires. But with power still won't help if you can't drive. And I think you meant when you are out in a simulated track in mexico

I see no mention of gears in your sig so I guess you got the OEM tall raito
of 273's or 308's

If so ... when you loose traction it is harder to control with tall gears
as opposed to
Steep gears such as 373's and the like ;)

Example:

Ever broke the tires loose in 2nd gear on a wet street or in the rain :D

You try to back off the skinny pedal but not much happens :(
You back off more but ... still ... you keep spinning :bang:
Finally ... you back all the way off ... you quit spinning

Do the same again in 1st gear
You find you got more control in a gear that is steeper

Its like that :)

Yes ... it is easier to break em loose with steep gears
BUT
You have more control in such situations

Yeah, I know I'll have to get some this summer. Just curious, how much time do you think it would shave off my 1/4 swapping from 3.08's to 3.73's or even 4.10's? Right now I'm in the low 13's. (Best time 13.35). And also my only concern is sacrificing my highway rpms with gears...
Anyway thanks a lot! :)

Not sure bout the time but i run 410s once you run them ull never go back SOO much fun. I run a 275-50-17 tire and run around 2800 rpms on the freeway at 70 mph i average around 20 mpg on the freeway somtimes better if I have a light foot:rolleyes:

I would not get to deep into other mods unless your going to address the tire issue. You can do all the improvements you want but with using street tires your still going to spin like a MOFO. Its not fun unless you can dump the clutch at 5,000 RPM's and get thrown back in the seat so hard that you have a hard time shifting into second.

^That sounds dang fun there! And I know the doubt about the time too, but the fella I bought it from showed me a time slip telling the tale so who knows  I wana get it to a strip and get some times, but I really do think it's a 13 second car... (geez school takes a lot of money! I want better heads and intake... :( lol)
