Hey I was going to just post this question on my other thread but don't think I will get much of a response as quick. So I love these full length connectors I got, they seem like really good quality, they are from UMI Performance.

Anyways, so because mine is a vert, I had to take off the extra braces that are on convertibles that go from the frame to the rocker panels, there is a front and back brace on either side and they were just riveted on.

So I grinded off the rivet ends and pryed all 4 braces off. Then bolted the seat/floor pan brace included with the connectors and jacked the connectors up with 4 jacks to hold them in place while I cleaned the surfaces for welding tomorrow.

I am going to rent a welder. 35 dollars for 4 hours but if I get it 3 hours before closing I can have it for the night.

Anyways so onto the question. Should I be picking up something from home depot like some steel bands or something to weld/tie in the connectors to the rocker panels kinda like the 4 braces were doing, or I could cut apart the braces and weld them in. Is that really neccessary??
