For the seat belt chime, it tells you in the manual. Something like clicking it and unclicking it 5 times within 10 seconds or something.

Yea.....the coolant level and everything is fine...actually just had it flushed and checked out......just the stupid light wont go off....my question to you guys on here would be:

How do i disable....or disconnect the light? i know this is an all too common problem....i've seen plenty of street racing videos and whatnot with GT's having the light on......how do i just disable the LIGHT????

Also......what do i have to do to disconnect the seatbelt chime? I dont' have the original owners manual.....

thanx

I've heard before that the coolant level sensor gets stuck (in the resivour) and that ends up being the case when the light goes on

Ok.....i completely understand that.....but the way i drive the car it probably will get lodged into the corner of the overflow again or something.....yada yada....i just wanna know how to disconnect the light so it can be on all it wants....."which it probably will be" but i wont have to see it.....i check my coolant and fluid levels ALL the time so it really doesn't matter to me....just sick of seeing that stupid yellow light...

Also....ANYONE know how to get rid of the seatbelt chime? I don't have a stupid owners manual.....

you have to remove the

headlight knob,
cluster bezel,
unscrew the retaining speedo cluster bolts and remove the cluster,
disconnect the 2 main harness on the cluster and you'll see the lights sticking out
find the one for the coolant light and twist it off
keep it in a box or something

I don't know if this will work on the 1996-2004 Mustang, but the Fox body coolant overflow tank has metal electrodes at the bottom of the sensor.

Remove the sensor, and soak the electrodes in vinegar for 2 minutes, then take a small piece of 1500 grit sandpaper, or a nail file, and scrub off all the oxidized looking white powdery stuff that builds up on the electrodes.

Finish with some rubbing alcohol, and the tank will be able to sense the water in the tank, now that the electrodes are clean.

Takes 5 minutes, and shuts off the light.
