coolant lines to the intake manifold?

Here it is, I am running a 408w carburated engine and have a question about the cooling lines. Are there supposed to be any coolant lines going to the intake manifold?

There is a small line coming off the thermostat housing that I have currently routed to the intake manifold but now I am beginning to suspect that line is for the heater core which I currently have disconnected. On the other side of the intake manifold I have the temp sensor but I am beginning to suspect that is also in the wrong place.

On the windsor where is the temp sensor supposed to be? Do I just leave all the NPT lines on the intake manifold capped off?

on carb'd windsor engines, the temp sensor has always been toward the front dr side.

I've never seen an intake with coolant lines going into it, other than the upper radiator hose. EFI mustangs had coolant lines going into the egr spacer to cool the gas's, but I've never seen this on a carb'd car.
