Ok so i picked up a brand new toy to play with and drive around while i work on my '10 gt and its giving me some crap

i have a 90 lx with the good ol 302 in it it has been gutted and everythign is in a bad way except the frame and body panels it starts but temps climb to fast for daily driver. all i can tell with the 4 pullies it has on it is the crank pulley is an underdrive. i believe it has a new radiator, cap and i just finished doing a new electric fan because the one on it looked like a PC fan! it is still climbing past 210 i hit 230 the first day because i wasnt paying attention :notnice:

so before i go doing a new water pump and crazy stuff would putting the stock lower on fix my dilema because the water pump pulley appears stock and the alternator one looks like a friggin dowel. any info before i head to the local heap yard for brackets and tensioners and all stock pullies would be sweet.

It climbs regardless of moving or sitting still it will come Down if I go fast on the highway but after holding it steady at 60 mph it came down 10 degrees but then climbed back up

Get a temp gun and check the t-stat housing and the radiator all around. Then check each port on the exhaust see if the temp are even then check on the housing and the radiator should be about 10 degrees diffence roughly. Then go to your local shop or parts house and buy a tester for checking for hydrocarbon in the cooling system possible head gasket or cracked head.
