Love the forum, and I've learned quite a bit from reading. Have a question hopefully someone can help with.
Have a 1965 6 cylinder coupe I've been restoring. Working my way to the engine compartment. Bought the car from the original owner, and it seems mostly original.
The valve cover seems a bright orange, though not sure it is original. The air cleaner seems red, or a worn reddish anyway.
In looking at various reference books I'm getting conflicting info on the true original color. I've seen some books which discuss a bright glossy red. Searching around I've seen several restored cars with this glossy red. At least one reference guide says bright orange, Orr-Lac 912. I've found no pictures online of a Mustang valve cover and cleaner with this color, but it does appear to be the color on the valve cover currently. Again, I don't know if it's original.
Anyone have any thoughts, advice, suggestions?
Thanks.
