Long story short, my tires are bald (I was going to replace them next week) and there was a new asphalt road with misty rain...
A truck slammed its brakes for no apparent reason, and I slammed mine, but my car slid like it was on ice into the truck's trailer hitch.
Not a scratch on the truck, but a trailer-hitch-shaped hole in my front bumper cover cover, through to the bumper, and sigh.....the stupid air bags deployed. This accident felt like nothing. The car is excellent everywhere and runs and drives perfectly still, but because the air bags triggered, I'm fearing the car will be totalled ('99 GT, 54k)?
Is anyone familiar with the cost of replacing air bags, including labor? The insurance company is responding slowly, and I'm dying to know whether my pony killed itself for me...
