I’m currently looking at a 68 mustang that overall is good. The trunk looks nice, the engine was rebuilt in 2015, and the undercarriage has only a little bit of surface rust in a couple spots.

The trouble is that there is rust on the top of the windshield, and at the base of the rear window. It doesn’t look like much, but there is always more as everyone says. I wanted to know if anyone had any ballpark figures to go and repair those points since everything else is so nice. Thank you for reading.

You would have to remove the two windows to see the extent of the rust ,it may just be around the trim clips if you are lucky

How much would you think either ot would cost? Kinda like best worst pricing wise.

Also thank you for talking about this with me.

Oh they joys of rust. I guess a better question would be how much would you think it would cost if I had to replace the entire upper lip and rear panel in between the rear window and trunk? Paint matching and all

I gave up painting a few years back so i cant coment on that part ,but if i had to replace the lower panel and cut and patch around the window it would be between $900. -$1500 ,but again it would depend on the amount of rust ,there could be rot below the outer panels ,or it could be clean below the outer panel . About the best thing to do is pull the windows ,clean the channel and see what the damage actually is

I’ll ask if I can, but I don't think the seller would let me do that. Thank you for all the help Horse Sence.
