Ive seen a thread like this, but it was refering to 5sp cars, not autos.
So i am wondering who thinks i could pull a wheel off the ground at the track?

I have an 89 vert with the mods in my sig.

Weight Reduction- Aluminum heads, no sway bar, no ac, aluminum radiator, weld draglites (skinnies)

Suspesion- 6pt cage, lakewood 70/30's and 50/50's, stock rear springs, 4cyl front springs, subframe connectors, tubular upper/lower control arms.

I will be running on MT ET Streets and spraying 100 shot right out of the hole.
Looking for mid/high 11 second slips.
I personally dont think it will get off the ground, but it will be close.
what do you guys think??

It would be close had it not been for the broken axle.

Yeah I think it is possible with a healthy launch and sticky M/T's.
I think RSW gets em up and he's running high 11's on juice. Now it's not gonna scrap the back bumper, but it should lift a few inches.

You can do alot with stock axles..I am a firm believer of upgrading but a buddy of mine at our last rental on a stick car and slicks made 30 passes all in the 1.6 range on stock axles...I woulda bet he was pushing the car onto the trailor.

Its one of those things some get away with it forever while others may break em 1st time out.

Same here. My car was cuting 1.7 60fts yesterday, I knew something was going to snap but never did. We also ran a car last year on stock 4cyl axle that went low 7's ever pass (1/8mile). And was cuting 1.3*'s 60fts.

Hmm i thought axels were only a big problem for stick cars. If i put axels in it, id have to keep 28 spline because i have an auburn pro. How well do aftermarket 28 splines hold up? obviously they have to be stronger than stock right....

The aftermarket axles will take more than the carrier will. So don't worry about that.

I made 6 years worth of 1/4 mile passes on stock axles and drag radials on Nitto's and the clutches in my diff wore out...my axles still look new. I good friend on mine ran multiple 11 second passes on stock axles with M/T and his axles just started to twist after a season or two.

I don't fix anything unless it's broke. When I upgraded my diff I did go with 31's only because it was out.

I would go 31, but i already have a 28 spline auburn pro carrier and would rather not swap that out.
