I'm getting ready to order my griffin 31'' x 19'' rad.
It's the one for 189.95 from summit.

The tube size is 1''.
Now I'm looking at the 14-16 psi cap.
It says it fits all rads with a 1.5'' neck.

Is the neck diameter the same size as the tube diemater?
If so which cap did you guys use?

Also, the passenger seat in my LX looks like it has water stains on it.

What can I use to get rid of those?
Some kind of upholstery cleaner?

Thanks
Patrick

Upholstery cleaners work great for cleaning up after leaky door seals. Do the whole seat and let it dry out very well.

I would just go to the parts store when the rad gets in instead of trying to guess what size cap to get. Maybe the guys you ordered the rad from would be able to tell you what cap to get?

I'll be ordering the rad online and have it shipped.
I'm stationed in Germany at the moment.

That's why I need to know beforehand which cap I need.

Maybe somebody else can chime in...

Patrick, I would grab the Griffin rad cap they sell at Summit - it is 10 bucks IIRC. And it will match your radiator (with the Griffin logo/wording).

Neck diameter is not the same as tube diameter.

Good luck.

Those are on backorder.
I was just wanting to order that same cap from a different site.

Is it the GRI-4506 ?

yeah the neck is the top where the cap goes and I think the tube is the inside part that the water flows through - at least that's how summit makes it sound "..."plus lightweight aluminum radiator cores and two rows of 1" diameter tubing for greater tube to fin contact." I think some guys have to turn their lower hose around and use the bigger end of the hose to fit over the griffen bottom fitting and then use the smaller end, lube it up and slide it over the water pump end - I think 5spdGT had to do that....he might have cut it down a little to fit if I remember correctly.

It looks to me like that would be the correct part number...that's what's listed in summit as 1 1/2" cap 14-16lb. Make sure you get the correct pressure is all I know. Stock is 16 psi.

Good Luck

That is the one I got. It works great on my Afco.

(FWIW, since the caps appear interchangable, Afco sells their caps for 10 bucks each. It would not match name-wise though - like mine dont).

Good luck.

P.S. You and Tim should IM or chat on the phone to comfort eachother through stang withdrawls.
