Cowl hood owners, please come in...

I'm thinking about buying a cowl hood for my 93, most likely a standard cowl, not the Cobra or Mach 1 style, but I'm trying to decide on a size. I think 4" will be too large of a rise and may be illegal? If you have pics please post them so I can get an idea of what the various sizes/styles look like.

I think 2.5"-3" looks best as far as cowls. Personally I like stock hoods, but a cowl is the only aftermarket hood I'd put on my car. I think 4" is too big unless it's necessary for clearance.
Here's a couple pics that were on my computer. I'm not sure of the exact hood sizes, but I can kinda tell. None of these are my car, and I don't know whose they are.

Thanks for posting pics everyone. Do you guys with the 4" hoods have trouble seeing over them? Do you have to move your inspection stickers to the side of the windshield so the cops don't give you crap?

i cant see the passenger side front, but it doesnt bother me and no the inspection stickers are fine where they normally are

santos, I love your car! Those tires/wheels look really awesome...especially with that paint. The cowl looks sweet from the outside, but inside it looks like a bit much, but that's just from pics. I guess you can tell how far you are away from things on the drivers side part of the hood that doesn't have the rise.

A friend used to have an 89 GT w/ an SVO cowl style hood w/ prob. 3" of rise and he didn't mind it much, so I guess it wouldn't be too big of a deal. I'd prob. go w/ 3" personally.

THANX I would have preferred a shorter rise than what i have, prolly 2-3', but i got the hood for $100.00 so i cant complain, besides im used to it now

Santos- thanks for the inside shots The hood looks really nice, I wonder if 4" is too much on an LX. On the GTs the rest of the body work helps to offset the hood

I went with the Y2K Cobra R IMO it looks great.....
If I could go any other way I would go with a 2.5-3" cowl
