Well wondering if I finally done it. When I left FFW I drove home 120 miles with the temps spiking. My autometer went to 250 and the stock temp gauge said "M". I haven't driven it since Saturday and when I started her up today the temp automatically buried on the autometer and then smoke. I drove fine with power and boost all the way home. I just thought the gauge might have took a dump so I wasn't worried.
I'm thinking the motor was so hot that the crack stayed kinda sealed until it cooled off and now it's a little bigger. I haven't pulled the lower yet to look but I won't have time until this weekend to do a leakdown test. The car still runs quiet unlike when I blew the HG's in the past and the coolant/oil hasn't shown any signs of mixture. The only sign now it spiking temps from 250 then down to 218 up and down and now the little hint of smoke.
Sounds more like a cracked block to me, what do you guys think?
I was hoping a grenaded motor before a cracked one when it went.

You do know, you can crank the boost, drop the fuel pressure, and drive the highway at 7k rpm's in 3rd gear. That should do it......:nonono:

Be glad that you saved the heads/intake from damage!!!!

R.I.P to JR's overused, overmodded, stock headed, boost nasty, track burning, rubber melting 302. :flag: :canada:

Oh, does this mean that for the next week or so, till you get it fixed....we can all say we have a better car than you, because it runs? If we can, that'd be cool! :D

I just pulled the lower and it's not a cracked block on the top. I'm thinking when I was tuning it it in medium loads I detonated a little and was waiting for the hg to go. I think when I was adding in the extra timing and boost at the track it prob just weakend it more. I was getting white smoke but not heavy yet. I think I caught it just in time before the milkshake had time to start. Thank god b/c that chit would have been a mess in the turbo.
I'm pulling the headers and heads tomorrow morning. Gonna suck to have to take the hot side of the turbo turbo loose. I am thankful I have just a V-band for the Y-pipe instead of haveing to drop an H-pipe from under the car. :D

Hoorah Devil dog! I'm reserves, well I'm actually done but they still own me for 4 more years. If I was active man I'd be broke as hell and my wife wouldn't let me spend a dime on the car. I work here from home and drop most of it into the car. :D
Hey man they sending you over soon? Be safe and let me know if you need any help at all with your ride.

Everyone makes fun of RC not racing his Vortech car but he's just about the only one who's kept his motor together.

When I read of people wanting to add a power adder I cringe. Many break in a short period of time. I'm one of them.

I think this is one of the first times Joe posted a NON "insult" in one of my threads :hail2:

Just for that, you get a couple extra Heinekens when you come by the pool
