So my thermostat housing is cracked. Leaks lots of coolant, and as you probably know, the housing is part of the intake on a 97gt. Now, if i cant by pass the new intake route, what is a good choice to make in a new intake? I was thinking just a cobra intake. Any body have any suggestions? If so give me some sites and prices. Thanks.

what he said. Not a straight swap, you need some other parts. Check this thread out.

Pi intakes have one temp senor location while the Non-PI intake have two you will have to get the metal crossover tube drilled to accomidate (sp?) if you get a PI intake however I thought that the intake runner holes were shaped different so you couldn't use a PI intake on a Non-PI head.

Cobra intakes do not fit on 2V heads. you are limited to a plastic replacement, Bullit, Reichard, or Fox lake intake.

With the PI intake added, I noticed a difference starting about 3k rpm and pulls hard up to a little under 6krpm. IMO, a nice match with the PI cams which also helped with torque down low, but it also raised the power up top.

With stock NPI cams and intake, the car leveled off at approx 5krpm and I used to shift at that point. With each PI mod, the power level was raised by 500rpm each time and also my shift points. So when I installed the PI cams it pulled hard till 5500 rpm and now goes to 6k rpm with the PI intake installed.

Next local dyno day, I will get a new sheet to compare with one I have with the PI cams.
