Ok, I just wire brushed a manifold and I noticed a hairline crack. It runs between #2 and #3 cylinder. It is realy small but it it about an inch long. Is this something to be concerned about? I thought I had an E6 manifold but it looks like an E3. I put a die grinder to the opening to make it look almost like an E6.

Almost every e3 manifold has cracked in the same place, it dosent hurt performance, maybe 1 hp. Opening the hole will only improve performance, If you are worried about it, just save up for an aftermarket header.

any exhaust pressure that leaks out of the manifold is less force that spools the turbo...

Most E6'a crack between the #3 runner and the turbo flange. Your's doesn't sound to big and I doubt it'll affect performance noticeably on the street. I'd run it for now and save your cash for a Bob's log or header, down the road.

I'm currently in the process of porting my E6. Should be done by Friday and will have a tutorial up by the weekend.
