The top of my steering wheel is starting to crack. Is there a way to hydrate it and remove some of the cracking?

Get a Momo. You will love it. Then you can put that old one away. Maybe you could get one of those covers with the nylon string that goes all around. They used to be popular many years ago.

Yeah. It’s from a 91. It’s in great shape over all, just looking dry in that area.

So the steering wheel in my 93 was doing the same thing and I also noticed the top part would roll over the steel core of the wheel. I ended up buying a new one from LMR and swapping the buttons and air bag over to it. Best thing I’ve done to the car in the last few years. Wheel was a little off center but I’ve got the MM steering shaft so I just reclocked it and good to go. It wasn’t a cheap solution but I was tired of how crappy it looked and the outer part coming loose of the steel core was concerning.

Is that the leather wrapped unit? You can have a shop rewrap them.

Redlinegoods.com I think sells leather wraps and have shops in the us you can send the wheel and wrap to for install.

Or buy the LMR repro wheel

I do not understand how no one at lmr noticed they screwed up the repo wheel.... I guess they where too lazy to make a new pattern for there 350 wheel.. One thing I like though, there so easy to spot on the fake low mile cars.

I'd rather have the old non cruise 3 spoke wheel if I was using a tilt column. Personally never liked the 87-89 wheels

Ha. I just noticed that. You are right. Looks like they designed the 350 wheel first and then just took the easy way out.
