Cradle? Read the thread.

Alright, so I have my car in the body shop, and one of the problems was that what appeared was that my fenders wouldnt line up evenly with the wheels. So now that they have finished the car, the rubbing may cease, but it still doesnt line up right. one wheel is tucked in, and the other one is flush with the fender.

As far as they are concerned they said that the body is straight, but the cradle is offset. I tried to get more information from them, but they werent being very descriptive. They are suggesting that everything in the front end is off kilter by about an inch. If thats the case, wouldn't the car drive like ****?

If anyone knows what the hell they mean when they talk about cradle, could you let me know, and if you know, tell me how I can adjust it?

Oh, and I should mention. The springs, struts, ball joints and tie rods I've already replaced within the last 10,000 km and it has been aligned (as best as possible being that there isnt any CC plates). They suggested for me to get an alignment, but I fail to see how that would benefit me in this situation?

The car drives totally straight, doesnt pull in any direction, and the only vibration I get is from the driveshaft.

Thats what I thought as well. But I'm not really sure how I could adjust it, and if it was off center, it would handle like crap, pull when it brakes, etc. etc. And if it was off by an inch, how could you even bolt the motor to the trans, etc. etc.

Any thoughts?

A lot of fox chassis Mustangs are built like that, some are more off center than others, but an inch does sound like a lot. I remember seeing some threads about it a while ago, I think they had to loosen the K member bolts and they squared the front end to where they wanted it.

Alright, heres some photos to further demonstrate the problem. When I went back to the shop, I measured from the center of each hub front to back. The drivers side was 100", and the passenger side was 101.3", so theres a problem. Now how do I fix this problem?
