Yep. I noticed when people post really nice low miles cars for say $7k and everyone flames them and tells them it’s a $2500 car. It’s annoying. I always go to their profile and look at their all primer clapped out Fox.

Good megasquirt forum

Good road race group

There was a good coyote swap group as well but I had to leave it as I was getting too tempted to start selling off my pile of Windsor parts and hunt down a coyote motor

The General fox forums are hit or miss. I tend to just lurk those just to see other guys cars and what they do to them. I bite my tongue when I see (incorrect) brake tech given

Haha, I just listed before I left for work the new SLP resonators that came with the new SLP loudmouth exhaust I bought before Christmas and installed on my car, I ordered the loadmouth II mufflers at the same time and that's what I installed, ... so I put the resonators up for sale... I check my texts when I get to work, (mind you this is before 7am) and I have a

"Please my mom will like to know if you still have this item (SLP Bullet-Type Resonator ) for sale, get back to her via xxx@gmail.com. thanks"

yeah that has scam all over it... kiss my azz, delete....

We get posts like that right here at Stangnet. The only difference is that they never see the light of day.

That is: They never make it to the forum. That includes post that are:

Insert hard luck story
Insert desired car or part
insert contact info

I've seen GoFundMe's posted on other groups/forums for people to buy Mustangs. Usually some hard luck story and asking for a fairly low amount ($500-1000) or so. I see things like that and I think instant scam. I have very little trust

Well I did get a call from a guy last night.... he wants them.... didn't try to negotiate price or anything... and is local, going to call him on my way home today, and meet up... so hopefully will be no issues... he said he was just getting ready to place an order for these but decide to check on CL first... has them on his mustang now but wants them for a S10...

Yes, LoL. We get lots of first posts with links to GoFundMe pages. That's a ticket right to ban land. I have no desire whatsoever to weed through those. That's not what we're here for. So I don't.

This is the same reason I don't like "What's it Worth" threads. More often than not, it's a shill thread trying to garner attention for a sale. We're not here to be Kelly Blue Book or the NADA guide either. They have their own websites.

So I was craigslistin and came across this rare 1993 cobra! The guy really talked it up and what not. I was like hmm 12k not bad. I emailed the guy and asked why the vin # was? He replied if you are trying to check if it’s a real cobra it is thank you. So I start inspecting the car bc I’ve always wanted a teal 93. Hmmm intake looks fake but maybe I’m wrong. So I see the tail lights and I ask him why it had the wrong tails. No sir those are period correct just faded. Ahhhh ok! Then I’m like wait, is that an insert on the front bumper? Sure enough looks like it to me.

It's real. Best way to tell is the steering wheel. 1993 Cobras, for some odd reason, do not come with cruise control. That one is lacking it.

$12k in that shape with a rebuilt title? That's a no. Go offer $5k

Cobra front bumpers had the same insert you but today. It just had an extra bracket on the back side.

That said, it looks real, but is not a 12k car

ha I should try but this guy already sounded like he won’t budge. Plus if I brought another foxbody home my wife might end up on the next episode of snapped.

Huh idk why I thought they were flush like one whole bumper peice kinda like the stalker bumper. My buddies clone he bought has a 93 cobra bumper and it’s all smooth, unless they just filled it all, smoothed it and painted it. The tails seem wrong with out the lines but maybe they are faded. Just love that color though it’s nice. Always wondered why they didn’t option the cruise control, couldn’t be weight saving could it?

Tails are just really badly faded, but correct.

And yes, the insert was still an insert on the 1993 Cobra. If you bought the kit back in 1993/1994 it came with the insert, a backing plate and a template of where to cut. I saw one go for sale on ebay....very expensive.

NPD sells a repro of the original ford part...minus the backing plate. Original part number F3ZZ-8200-A

Gotta love the description on that cobra.
"88,000 miles, but it only has a 5 digit odometer", umm are you saying it might be 188, or is it 188? It's almost like a disclaimer just in case you figure out he's lying.

"Not all ragged out", not so sure about that, looks pretty f'ed up to me.

I'd be inclined to not buy that car period.
Needs 10 grand to make it nice.

At least. And that's before even discovering if the strut towers, floors or any structure needs attention as well

$5k...I'd do it

I think the RedDevil is right about the tail lights. I don't see the lines. Looks like pre 85 tails to me. I mean, I don't give a damn about tail lights. If it's a Cobra, it's a Cobra. The intake is correct, but the badge is faded. Easy replacement to clean that up.

That's the perfect car if you would be inclined to modify a Cobra anyway, rather than tearing up a perfectly good one. No way a Cobra is going for $5k. There are GT and LX tubs of S#$% going for close to that. It's not a $12k car either. But I'll bet it take 8+ to get it.
