Ok, so i FINALLY got the damn crank pulley off, I stripped a puller in the process, that sucker was Rusted to the crank. Once i got about a billion pounds of pressure on it, it Popped right off! And i got the cam and Oil pump Sprockets off (those were easy) Now i cannot get the small crank timing sprocket off. Its the little one that sits behind the Main crank pulley. Its all surrounded by metal Flanges so i cant get the puller on it, and it doenst seem to budge whel pryed on. I dont want to scratch up the crank or break something so i figured i might as well ask. Anyone know how to get this thing off? I got the plate that goes around it loose but i cant get the actual gear piece to come off. Any suggestions??

Does your crank need the journals polished? If so just send it to the machine shop and have them take the sprocket off, that's what I did.

It's a pain to get off (cant imgaine taking it off in the car). Gotta take of the front cover maybe to get to it. The alignment notch that sticks up on the front of the crank is removable, it has to be "convinced" to come out. Its a half-moon shape.

I havent been down there for a long time, but i think that it has to come out before you can get the sprocket off.
Someone correct me if im wrong.

Try the "Power Blaster" soak method. Tap on it with a hard rubber hammer.

i dont think that Key is removable, I have soaked the thing in WD40 but i cant get it off. I dont wanna Fug up the teeth or scratch up the crank so i have been trying not to pry on it. The front seal Retainer (the thing with the collar cast onto to protect the timing belt) is the way so getting a puller on there doesnt seem to be an option. The motor is on a stand so i can just gut the insides and remove with the crank out, but i would much rather get it off before i disassable it. Any other ideas? I have looked for a set screw but i didnt seem to find one.

Well, this is kind of a long shot, but you COULD drill holes into the sprocket, tap them, and then thread bolts in there and use them to pull it off (with a steering wheel puller or something like that). But that's a little extreme...

lol the key is removable, im not sure *IF* it needs to be to take off the sprocket or not. But the key has to be removable for when they turn the crank. I cant remember if i had to take the key out though, it was awhile ago....i remember putting the key back in though

There is no set screw. The key is removable. Tool T74P-6306-A or equivalent is used to remove the gear if you really get desperate. Your local parts store probably has a Lisle equivalent.

Is that a ford Number? Autozone acted like i was dumb when i asked them for a tool. They offered me a 3 jaw puller but it wont go inside the steel collar that surrounds the gear.

I have one local store where the guys are like that! If it isn't in front of their face in black and white, "They don't have it, can't get it." Look at you like you're an alien from Pluto.
