Without worry about the why's and the wherefor's.

I want to know if it is possible to get a crank of the same stroke as the 302, into a 351w block.
I know the 302 block that I know has main bearings 2.25 inches in diameter, while the 351's main bearings are 3 inches.

Can I get oversized bearings? Does anybody make 302 cranks with oversized journals?

Or do I need to throw out the lifeboats and abandon all hope.

Thanks!

Imagine how long of a rod I could use with a 351's deckheight and a 302's crank

And what's that gonna get ya? I don't see anyone running around trying to find a smaller stroked crank. Maybe you're thinking about some super RPM Ford V-8??? Most likely, you'd need a custom ground crank for something like that and perhaps a different firing order. I just otherwise don't see an advantage to running a longer rod and shorter crank.

If nothing else... it's another bump for ya. hehe

Thanks for the bump! :)
Hey, every badass mod starts with the first guy to do it
Illusions of grandeur? Yeah probbably :D :rlaugh:

Actually I'm not looking for really high RPMs as much as I'm looking for rod ratio. But I'll give her as many rpm's as she wants. But aaanyway, like I put in my first post. I don't want to worry about the "why do that"'s in this thread and distract from the point of the thread. I'm simply concerned with can it be done.

Rod ratio is not as go as most make it out to be.Big rod ratios can lead to detonation and forget about runing a blower or nitrous with a long rod motor.
