CRAP...is it the death rattle?!

I have the same problem/noise in my 02 GT in cold mornings. I also use Mobil 1 5w-30 and a Mobil 1 filter. I change my oil every 3k miles and i still ahve this noise in the morning until it warms up.

I just ignore it 59k miles on the car with this "noise". And still goin strong

The problem is piston slap however, for clarification. It happens to my friends 99 Lightning in cold mornings too.

like I said, good oil pressure, good compression, raise that b1tch hell!

But maybe wait for the engine to warm up lol...cold engines don't like WOT anyway, "death rattle" or not

I NEVER beat on my engine when its cold. Thats always a no no

Which is why I ignore the slap, because i take it easy on it and it goes away after warming up
