My headlights look like crap, the plastic looks all faded and fuzzy. Can I be cheap and polish them or am I better off buying some aftermarket headlights?

If I polish them with they just fade?

In addition the headlights need to be aimed, how hard is that?

youre supposed to take headlight covers off at night. I had the same crappy headlights so I just bought some new ones cost about 250 I think for smoked clear(no yellow) I think you just need to turn a screw or two to adjust the headlights check your haynes/chilton manual if you have one.

use that stuff called "Scratch X" or simply a WHITE toothpaste and get a cloth to rub with and either one will take off that oxidation with a little elbow grease.

If polish doesn't work then take 1500 grit sandpaper rub them out REALLY well, then polish them out. Works just fine.

Depends what is wrong with them. If they're yellowed like some headlights get, then you can use polishing compounds and clean them up. If they're like mine were, don't waste your time. With mine you could run your fingernail over them and feel all the little cracks. If you get down close and look at them, you'll see actually see the little cracks, most of them look like little Y's.

Just go buy some new aftermarket clear lights IMO. Thats what I did and it looks 10x better.

I needed to replace a headlight so I got one off ebay. The seller was DoctorAutoParts I think and they had 100% pos. feedback. Fast ship and the light looks good, looks just like the stock one.

I only paid $92 for the OEM headlight for our 01 GT (bought direct from Ford dealership). I've heard too many horror stories about these Ebay headlights, plus we only needed one.
