I am thinking about a new engine. Is a crate engine a good way to go? As I am not up to a complete rebuild my self. Where can I get a good quality (looks sounds good) engine that is ready to drop in to my 66' with a 289 and new C-4 tranny? Also should I go 302 or bigger?

Is the edelbrock crate worth the price..... if so which one should I get??

Thanks guys

Take this with a grain of salt, as I cannot profess as to any experience with any of these vendors, but from what I've been able to ascertain through some research, I would suggest checking out the following vendors (price varies; choose according to budget and quality of parts comprising the engine in question):

Ford Racing Performance Parts
Coast High Performance
Southern Automotive
Sean Hyland Motorsports
Roush Racing

there is a guy up in portland who owns or works at all ford performance. you might want to hit them up.

He posts in th NW forum.

I have seen a few people in the nw that say they do good work.

dey be bowtie engines

if you want to have a chevy engine in your ford be my guest, but it's kind of like the pope wearing a yarmulke (yammakah) instead of his pointy hat. :D

The ford engines they have just seem to be a collection of the fordracing.com engines.
