I want to order a CSI electric water pump for my 351W. When I looked at March's add in MM&FF they show that I will need an idler pulley to route the belt away from the water pump. I will only be running the belt from the crank to the alternator. What will I need and do I need an idler puller?

I am running a CSI on a 302, with the only accessory being the alternator.
march offers an electric water pump kit that comes with an alternator bracket, idler, tensioner rod, and alt. and crank pulley. (part # 30065)
I already had underdrives so I got just the bracket, tensioner, and idler, part #30061.
I am not sure if this setup will fit a 351 or not.
joe.

I'm curious, if you just have a belt between the altrenator and the crank, why do you need an idler?

I have been thinking about going all electric with manual steering, if someone has created a nice kit for that, I would like to see it.

You have to have an idler pulley to get belt away from pump motor. I bought a manuel rack from Orilly for $90
