current draw of msd box

how many amps does it take to run an msd 6a box. i need to know so i can put the correct fuse on the power wire.also how many amps does the taurus fan draw.

Do you have to run a fuse on an MSD? I just installed mine according to the diagram, and they never said anything about a fuse.

Are there specs on MSD's site? I'd look but PDF and dial-up = suckage.

I do think it's not a bad idea to put a fuse on there - even if it's way over anything reasonable, it will quell a dead short eventually.

probably not but it might not hurt. the wire that powers the coil when the key is on isn't working and i don't know why, the fusable links and all fuses are good. i found another wire that works about the same so i might splice into it. just don't wanna burn things up.

i was thinking a 15 or 20 would do it, but what about the fan, 30 or more

I used a 30 mega fuse for my Taurus fan. Do NOT use a normal fuse, get a maxi fuse. I used a 30amp regular blade fuse and it melted it. I just cut it out of the power wire and inserted a mega fuse and everything is fine.
