custom sub enclosure

Here's the deal, I have 2 - 10" in a box in my trunk and they have filled up my trunk, I want to know if anyone has made a good enclosure for a 67 or close coupe that fits in the area under the rear windshield. or on the sides of the trunk where the filler boards go? preferably with room for an amp or two also. Any ideas and or pictures and blueprints would be appreciated.

I had subs for a while, then yanked em out to put the bottle and battery back there lol

You can make a custom fit box by lining the area with wax paper (taped together at the seams) and then use fiberglass as it wont stick to the wax paper. That way it will conform to complex curves...

They sell setups like darkness' in Year One. It pretty cool that you built that yourself though. Thumbs up!

Wow, Darkness that is very well done. I would consider doing something like that but what if you get a flat?? Dunno why I ask, I don't think there has ever been air in my spare in 9 years of owning the car!

here is a little way.

I gotta ask what materials you used for the sub enclosure. Like where did you get the ring the sub is attached to ? Also what is that stuff that you sprayed inside the tire ? Is that to make the sound better ? This has just been added to my to-do list but I'd like to know what to budget.

inside the tire is fiberglassed, the car has a precision power 5440 5 channel amp, MTX speakers, Orion sub.

Thanks for the replies guys, I loved what jeff did, the tire looks cool, but unfortunately, I need my spare to be usable. So I'm asking, anyone else have a custom trunk with a sub or two? I think I'm going to use Jeff's plans, but I want this car customized, and I don't want to copy him, I'd like some other ideas to influence my decision, so show me what you got guys!!!

I am doing something like what Jeff did, but mine will sit inside the rim of the tire, and be a self contained unit. I am laying it up tomorrow. Should be able to post picks tomorrow night. I am using one 12" Alpine Type R sub.

I like darknesses sub in a spare.... but what's the point of carrying a spare tire at all if it's not mounted on a rim?

It tooks completely stock..which is what I'm guessing his goal was.
