Custom Tune... Pinging?

Whats up guys? I recently bought a Brenspeed 93 octane tune. I love the extra power, it feels like a new car! However, at certain RPM's I think I hear the motor pinging!? Definetly not good. I filled up with 93 for about 2 months before applying the tune so I know for a fact I'm not running an 87/93 mix. Any recommendations? Run some fuel injector cleaner? Buy a 91 tune and run it with the 93?? I don't want to not run the tune and waste 75 bucks... but I'm afraid to get on it now.

If you had been using 93 octane gas with the stock 87 octane tune over a 2 month period, then some carbon may have built up inside the combustion chambers, which is causing the pinging with the 93 tune. To check that theory, reinstall the stock air intake and the stock tune when the 93 octane gas is gone, and fill up with 87 octane.
If the pinging persists, then carbon build up is the likely cause. Suggest dumping a can of Seafoam in the tank to get rid of the carbon. If the pinging still happens after that tankful is gone, then use a 2nd can of Seafoam.(It's only about $7 a can).
If the pinging goes away after you reinstall the stock intake and stock tune and fill up with 87 octane, then the cause may be the 93 tune. Contact Brenspeed about the problem as suggested by others.

The pinging happens a lot especially if it's an email tune. If the tune itself is unlocked load it up again but when it asks you to make "adjustments to setting" enter yes then scroll down to timing, select the RPM range were it pings and reduce it, I find 2 degrees works well. This should be enough even if they send you another tune it doesn't mean that wont ping either.

Good to know I'm not the only one I guess. Now that the temp has dropped it runs fine but on warmer days it can sometimes ping pretty badly on anything above 4000rpm for me with Brenspeed's 93 tune. I've tried seafoam and that was only a temporary cure for me. I've been waiting to do headers and then just get a custom tune locally but with buying a house that may have to wait.
