Has anyone removed the two far-back cats on their stock H-pipe? My co-worker (who has tons of experience with stangs) suggested the idea to me. The only problems I have with it are, will I need to get the MIL eliminators? and would I still pass emissions?

I would chop out the cats and replace them with a metal sleeve to connect the two pieces of the pipe.

You shouldn't need MIL's. As for emissions, I'm not really sure, but most people will tell you that what you're thinking about doing isn't worth it, and that it would be better to just replace the whole mid-pipe. I doubt that you'd notice a performance gain from cutting out 2 cats.

You might as well put an aftermarket pipe in. That's gonna take some work...

emissions also deal with the visual inspection, so you would fail off the bat because you're suppose to have as many cats on your car as it was stock, some stations don't care, you should check with your shop first, stock pipes are very expensive

you're better off buying a real hi flow h/x pipe with just 2 cats
