Cutting Springs

I have a 01 GT Vert, with the oem 17 inch bullitts on it. I am interested in lowering my car, but I want to get my springs cut, for the time being, until I save enough $$ to get some coilovers. I am wondering to the few of you out there that has cut their springs, how many coils will I have to cut off, so it will lay about an inch above the tire in the front, and about an inch and a half above the tire in the rear?

I know all the consequences of doing this, that's why its only temporary Thanks

I believe there's 2 dead coils on a stock spring.

Search the forums for more info. It's been covered.

That's cool, I'll do some searching, but if I cut the 2 dead coils, how low will that bring me?

Thanks man, I did a small search for the time being, and I'm pretty much seeing that one coil is about 2 inches, so I'll do about a coil and a half, and go from there
